Priyanka Chopra also known as Piggy Chops is a former Miss World, Indian actress, singer as well songwriter.She won the Miss World Pageant in 2000 which paved the way for her career in Bollywood. Currently she is one of Bollywood's highest paid actresses and one of the most popular celebrities in India.
Priyanka was born on the 18th July'1982 to the family of Capt. Dr. Ashok Chopra and Dr. Madhu Chopra.She started her education at La Martinière Girls College in Lucknow as a resident student; a short stay at Maria Goretti College in Bareilly prepared her for further studies in the USA. While in Massachusetts, she participated in several theater productions and studied Western classical music, choral singing and Kathak dance.She was the only Indian in her class to have been selected at state level for the National Opus Honor Choir. By sophomore year, she was leaning towards a career in either software engineering or criminal psychology. After three years she returned to India where she won a local beauty pageant which in turn led her mother to enter her in the Femina Miss India 2000 contest. In the contest she finished second wining the Femina Miss India World title. At the Miss World pageant, she went on to win the Miss World 2000 pageant and Miss World Continental Queen of Beauty—Asia & Oceania at the Millennium Dome in London on 1 December 2000. That year proved to be a year for Indian Beauty Queens as Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza were crowned Miss Universe and Miss Asia Pacific respectively.

The beauty pageant paved the way for her career in Bollywood and Tollywood respectively. She was first seen in a Tamil movie 'Thamizhan'.
