Katrina Kaif also known as Kat is a former model as well a British
Indian actress. She was born on the 16th July'1984. She was born in Hong
kong to an Indian Kashmiri father Mohammed Kaif and an English mother
Suzanne Turquotte. Katrina has seven siblings.
She began her career as a model at the age of fourteen. Her very first modeling assignment was for a jewelry campaign. She continued her modeling career in London with Models 1 Agency and did campaigns for houses such as La Senza and Arcadius.
Her modeling work led to her discovery by London filmmaker who then gave her role in the movie Boom in 2003. That was the start of her acting career and entry into Bollywood. The movie however was a commercial failure. Post London, Katrina moved to Mumbai where she was offered many modeling assignments but no movies mainly due to the bad command over the national language Hindi.
In 2005, she had a brief appearance in the movie Sarkar. The film has often been hailed as the major turnaround for the better in her career due to her performance.Post that, in the same year she landed her first major role opposite Salman Khan in a David Dhawan starer Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya. The next year after that she was paired with Akshay Kumar in the movie Humko Deewana Kar Gaye. For her role in the movie she received positive reviews despite the film being a complete flop. In 2007, she appeared in four films namely Namaste London, Apne, Partner and Welcome all of which were a commercial success.In 2008, she she appeared in two blockbuster movies Race and Singh Is King, both of which did well. In 2009 we caught her in New York and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and De Dana Dan. In 2010, she appeared in Raajneeti, Tees Maar Khan and Sheila Ki Jawani. In 2011, Katrina was seen in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. In 2012, she first release for the year was Ek Tha Tiger which was followed by Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
